Parker Lord has an immediate opening for a Tool Maker C at the Robison Road facility in Erie, PA within the Tool Room department. The Tool Maker C is responsible for planning, performing and coordinating all required machining functions, and sharing in the responsibility for the manufacture or repair of moderate complexity tooling involving a specialized skill and knowledge of tool building practices.  

This position falls within the scope of the FAA Drug and Alcohol program which includes a random testing program and successful completion of an FAA pre-employment drug screen.

Candidates must be able to work off shift (2nd or 3rd) for an extended period of time.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, perform and coordinate all required machining functions, and share in the responsibility for the manufacture or repair of moderate complexity tooling involving a specialized skill and knowledge of tool building practices.  

  • Most work will be moderate complexity design and construction but could include some intricate design and construction.

  • Work from detailed blueprints, sketches, models, and verbal instructions in order to meet quality control standards.

  • Inspect work during build to ensure compliance to quality specifications. 

  • Assume the responsibility for assembly and bench work.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:   

  • Minimum Education Level: High school diploma or equivalent 

  • Trade school or equivalent on the job training required

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of tool making experience or equivalent 

  • Experience operating manual tool room equipment (ex: Mill, Lathe, Grinders)

  • Operation of CNC tool room equipment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:   

  • CAM programming experience

  • CAD software awareness or experience

  • CNC machining equipment setup experience
