Job Description:
Oversees the development and integration of highly complex equipment and tooling concepts into the production system to satisfy aerospace product design and build requirements. Provides enterprise-wide consultation and guidance for the application of highly complex robotics, automation and new technology to optimize the build plan. Leads cross functional/industry teams and represents Boeing in industry and technical associations Collaborates with the supply base on equipment and tooling build and inspection methodologies. Leads the implementation of best practices into functional process documentation to drive standard work. Consults and provides support for emergent technical issues of significance across the global production system. Leads and mentors others.
Boeing Defense & Space (BDS) is currently looking for an Equipment and Tooling Designer to join the Enterprise Production Engineering team. The selected candidate will be responsible for designing production tooling and tooling drawings. The ideal candidate will have a design background with tooling design experience and a deep understanding of 2D drawings and 3D models.
Position Responsibilities:
- Designing tooling for enterprise programs.
- Creating 2D drawings and 3D models of tools for production.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):
- Proficiency in CATIA v5 or NX (5 years or more)
- Proficiency in 2D drafting or Model Based Definition (MBD) (5 years or more)
- Experience in production engineering (3 years or more)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience):
- Experience in drawing checking
