PE Mixer/Operator | FT | AM Day Shift | Brampton

Location: Brampton, ON
Type: Full-Time, AM Day Shift (7 AM-3:30 PM)
Pay: $21.00/ hr. (Experience reflected)


About the Role

Are you detail-oriented and ready to take charge of the mixing and preparation process in a busy production facility? We’re seeking a PE Mixer/Operator who will set up, monitor, and maintain our client’s extrusion mixing lines for day shift operations.


What You’ll Do

  • Provide each extrusion line with the proper mix, with the right tooling, gauge(s), label(s) and glue nozzles, and other accessories as required to produce the scheduled production part.
  • Using the set-up sheets as reference, prepare the necessary tooling (dies, mandrels, extension heaters, skinners, blowers and other accessories) and gauge(s). Then sign them out and in to and from each respective line.
  • Ensure that the proper mix is sent to each blender controller remotely through the computer or locally through the respective blender controller, after verifying that the right raw materials are in their respective bins using the computer’s recipe list and the set-up sheets as references. Calibrate and zero each blender controller according to the mix.
  • Enter the operator’s name and the right work order number into computer (G2) using the production schedule as reference.
  • Procure the product labels using the production schedule and set-up sheets as references.
  • Monitor the mix in each extrusion line by trending them in the computer.
  • Maintain a steady supply of raw materials for each extrusion line.
  • Respond to alarms and correct the cause(s) for the alarms (ie: gas alarm, blender alarm, etc.)
  • Extract any information from the computer such as past product trends, recipes, material usage upon request.
  • Being available for emergency situations and willing to work overtime on short notice.
  • Participate in WAM pillars through actively identifying areas of risk and opportunity using tools such as EHS cards and Quick Kaizens. Keep work area clean and follow all EHS and 5S standards
  • Actively participate in safety and improvement initiatives
  • Available for emergency coverage and occasional overtime

 

What You Bring

  • Ability to understand orders written or orally given in English.
  • Ability to read and understand English.
  • Physical ability to lift on a regular and on- going basis up to seventy-five (75) pounds.
  • Medical fitness to perform all the essential duties of the position.
  • Ability to become a team player.
  • Ability to read and understand numbers, and to undertake basic mathematics (i.e., addition, multiplication etc.) and the ability to communicate those numbers.
  • Ability to distinguish colors
  • Medically fit to perform essential duties
  • Previous experience in manufacturing or with mixing/blending equipment is an asset
