Quality Control Technician IAbout Site

Catalent's Kansas City facility is home to our Oral & Specialty Drug Delivery, Biologics Analytical Services and Clinical Supply Services businesses.

Position Summary

We have an opportunity for a Quality Control Technician I to join our team. In this role, you will perform tasks under close supervision following detailed instructions and established procedures. You will apply technical skills and strong work habits to complete assigned work within your group or project team. This position requires a self-motivated, detail-oriented individual who can make decisions, solve problems, and work independently while supporting team members as needed.

Shift: Monday - Friday 6:30am-3:00pm
Location: Kansas City, MO
100% Onsite

The Role
  • Work independently performing all assigned sampling tasks.
  • Stay self-motivated and organized in daily activities.
  • Perform sampling of raw materials, active pharmaceutical ingredients, finished products, packaging components, and consumables using table top balance, analytical balance, yard stick, and caliper.
  • Prepare sampling packets, create internal sample labels, and update inventory after sampling.
  • Prepare release sample shipments as needed.
  • Ensure sampling is compliant with Standard Procedures and regulatory guidance.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external customers, peers, and supervisors to support project activities.
  • Understand project timelines and deliver work on time.
  • Maintain awareness of Current Good Manufacturing Practices, industry standards, and modern techniques.
  • Participate in deviation investigations related to material sampling and ensure proper documentation.
  • Attend training sessions and department meetings as required.
  • Keep training current on all applicable Standard Operating Procedures, Current Good Manufacturing Practices, and Good Laboratory Practices, ensuring records are up to date.
  • Assist co-workers during team-related sampling events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
The CandidateMinimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) is required.
  • Demonstrates the ability to apply mathematical and scientific reasoning, interpret written, verbal, and visual instructions, and build knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) expectations and concepts.
  • Effectively manages personal work priorities, communicates clearly with internal customers, proactively addresses issues, and escalates barriers to management when appropriate.
  • Well organized with the ability to multitask.
  • On an average 8-hour day, ability to walk, sit, stand, use hands to handle or feel, reach at or above shoulder height and below waist height, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear, smell, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision requirements include reading written documents, visual inspection of materials, and frequent use of a computer monitor.
  • Ability to utilize facial mask, half mask, or powered air-purifying respirator during a scheduled shift while working in a confined space.
  • Operate pallet jack with a maximum weight load of 1,000 pounds during a scheduled shift as needed.
