Job description

Amphenol Borisch Technologies is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of 2nd shift CNC Operator at our facility in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Under minimal supervision, the CNC Operator produces machined parts by operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Completes machine set-ups per provided work instructions
  • Performs basic machine operations including loading, unloading and de-burring completed parts
  • Performs a variety of machining operations using hand tools and gauges
  • Reads blueprints, job orders and work instructions for specifications including dimensions and tolerances
  • Performs regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on assigned machines as well as daily preventative maintenance
  • Maintains and updates machine logs and other documentation
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Minimum 2 years of experience operating CNC machines in a production environment
  • Experience with Mazak and Hurco CNC machines preferred
  • Experience performing set-ups and programming preferred
  • Knowledge in use of precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, etc.
  • Experience working with CNC machine feeds and speeds
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and work instructions
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
