Job description

AV Contracting firm is seeking a skilled Low Voltage Technician with a minimum of 3 years of experience to join our team. Must have the technical knowledge and understanding of audio, video, and control systems to properly install, maintain, and service low voltage and A.V. systems. Must take ownership and responsibility of projects. A pleasant personality, neat appearance, and the ability to deal professionally with clients and coworkers.

A driver's license and the willingness and ability to climb ladders and scaffolding is required. While evening and weekend work is rare, it may be required from time to time.

Time management, reliability, and honesty are expected.

Duties Include

  • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain low voltage systems such as audio and video, home automation, security alarms, cameras, and access control systems.
  • Conduct field service calls to diagnose and resolve issues with existing installations.
  • Utilize power tools and equipment safely and effectively during installation and repair tasks.
  • Wiring new homes and business for cat, fiber, coax, speaker, and more.
  • Rack assembly, audio, video, and control terminations. Speaker, projector, T.V. and screen mounting.
  • Programming, trouble-shooting, testing, and tuning A.V. , surveillance, and security systems.
  • Time management
  • Maintain service reports for all service calls, installations, and repairs accurately, both in writing and pictures.
  • Strong customer service relationships for providing clients with instruction, knowledge, and sales.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in various settings.

Experience

  • 3 Years of experience minimum requirement.
  • Understanding of computer networking, Control, and video distribution, Test equipment use.
  • Experience using power tools effectively.
  • Familiar with URC, Lutron, Control4, Control Systems is a plus
  • Familiar with camera systems and access control is a plus
