Job description

Segra is searching for a qualified and experienced Network Sustainment Engineer to join us in a full-time capacity.

Location Requirement:

This work arrangement for this role is a hybrid position, requiring three (3) days in a Segra office, with flexibility to work remotely two (2) days each week.

Role Overview:

This position provides in depth support of the company's Transport, Packet, and Management Networks and OSS functions.

Will have knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within one of the functional areas of the organization identified in the Skill Discipline Matrix below.

Design, develop, test, and implement all components, equipment, and software within the functional area of the organization. Performs administrative work relating to projects and assignments.

Qualifications

Education: College degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field and 4-6 years of professional level experience. CCIE/CCIE Service Provider, CCNP/CCNP Service Provider, CCNA, MEF-SNCP, MEF-CECP, MEF-SDCP, CISSP, CISA, or Security+ (CompTIA) preferred.

Experience:

  • Must have prior experience with MPLS, BGP, Segment Routing, Layer 2, and similar technologies.
  • Must have prior experience in the Telecommunications industry to be considered.
  • 4-6 years deploying and managing OSS systems, network operations, or engineering environment or related job.

  • Excellent verbal, written communication skills.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be detail oriented with good organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to multitask effectively.
  • Must have effective interpersonal skills to interact successfully with customers, management, and team members to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Must be able to prioritize and re-prioritize as needed, in a fast-paced working environment, especially when dealing with time-sensitive issues and mandated deadlines.
