Job description

Computer World Services Corp (CWS) is seeking an experienced Network Specialist to manage and support telecommunications and network systems, with a specialization in Cisco hardware and services. This role also involves Dell hardware repair, WAN/LAN infrastructure management, and network performance monitoring. The ideal candidate will be experienced in hardware engineering, troubleshooting, and providing production support to maintain a reliable and efficient network environment.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
Network Engineering and Support
  • Support the installation, implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of WANs and LANs
  • Assist in designing and managing WAN infrastructure and related processes
  • Perform day-to-day operations and provide second-level problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution for network issues
  • Support the dispatch and coordination of circuit and hardware vendors for problem resolution
  • Escalate and communicate network status updates to management and internal customers

Hardware Engineering and Repairs
  • Perform Dell hardware repairs and support related systems and devices
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair network hardware to ensure smooth operations

Infrastructure and Cabling
  • Provide support for cabling and infrastructure setup, maintenance, and optimization
  • Ensure adherence to infrastructure standards and best practices

Network Performance Monitoring
  • Monitor and optimize network performance using tools such as SolarWinds
  • Ensure efficient and secure operation of network systems and related devices

Documentation and Technical Support
  • Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, hardware setups, and processes
  • Provide technical consultation to internal teams and assist with training when needed

Education & Experience
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology Management, Engineering, or a related field
  • Four years of relevant experience may substitute for the educational requirement

Experience
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in network installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance
  • Hands-on experience with WAN and LAN infrastructure design and management

  • Proven track record in Dell hardware repairs and support

Technical Skills
  • Proficient in Cisco hardware and services
  • Strong understanding of communication protocols, network architectures, and software systems
  • Experience with network performance monitoring tools like SolarWinds
  • Knowledge of cabling and infrastructure support best practices

Certifications
  • CCNA, CCNP Preferred
  • ITIL certification v4 preferred

Security Clearance
  • Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance
