Job description

The Desktop Support Specialist is responsible for delivering high quality desktop support services to internal customers in specified facilities and external client liaisons. Working under the direction of the Desktop Support Manager, The Desktop Support Specialist prioritizes and resolves technical user support issues to help the organization maintain high levels of operational efficiency and client satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Responds to user helpdesk requests and answers telephone inquiries.
  • Prioritizes and resolves technical issues to ensure timely completion of work orders.
  • Manages PC installations, imaging, upgrades, and patches.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves problems related to hardware and software.
  • Collaborates with Network Support to ensure that PCs, printers, laptops, and other peripherals are in working order and able to connect to the corporate network.
  • Tracks, updates, and manages issues using IT ticketing software.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of desktop support experience preferred, or 1+ years of internship or relevant work experience in conjunction with an IT focused degree would be considered.
  • Technical expertise in the following areas is preferred:
    • PC hardware/software troubleshooting and repair;
    • Windows 10/11 support;
    • VPN Installs;
    • TCP/IP Network Configurations and remote communication;
    • Laptop Support; website troubleshooting, and Microsoft Office installs.
  • Strong ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • A "service" ethic toward internal customer base.
  • Ability to maintain a predictable and consistent full-time work schedule.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Associates Degree required. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
