Job description

Job Title: Infrastructure Engineering - Network Engineer II
Job Id: 64599-1
Location: Fremont, CA
Role Mandate:
The main function of a network engineer is to determine user requirements and design specifications for computer networks. A typical network engineer is responsible for planning and implementing network upgrades. The individual will be responsible for provisioning some data center network equipment.
Candidate Value Proposition:
The ideal candidate will be able to understand and execute python scripts and have network engineering device background. There are playbooks, runbooks, wikis, and documentations to support the individual to be successful in their role, while working alongside an engineer. This is a great opportunity to land in the middle of network engineering.
Role Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
• Adjust network sizes to meet volume or capacity demands
• Communicate with customers, sales staff, or marketing staff to determine customer needs
• Coordinate network operations, maintenance, repairs or upgrades
• Design, build, or operate equipment configuration prototypes, including network hardware, software, servers, or server operation systems
• Determine specific network hardware or software requirements such as platforms, interfaces, bandwidths, or routine schemas
• Develop and implement solutions for network problems
Performance Measurement:
Performance will be measured on execution of assigned tasks.
Must-Have Skills:
• 2+ years of Network Engineering, Linux/Unix, and Python experience
• Experience designing and building networks (not seeking deployment engineers)
• Basic knowledge of computer hardware as it relates to data storage
• Knowledge of computer software, such as configuration management software, desktop communications software, operating system software and internet directory services software
