Position Overview:

Merrimack College, located 25 miles north of Boston, is undergoing an exciting transformation toward becoming a premier regional research university. The School of Engineering and Computational Sciences invites applications for a full- time, open-rank, non-tenure track faculty position in Electrical and Computer Engineering, beginning Fall 2025. We seek passionate educators dedicated to student success who will enrich our dynamic, student-centered learning environment and help expand innovative, experiential learning opportunities such as co-ops and industry-engaged projects.

The School of Engineering and Computational Sciences is a hub for innovation at Merrimack. We offer ABET-accredited programs in civil, electrical, and mechanical engineering, as well as degrees in computer engineering, computer science, data science, and more. New programs in construction management, information technology, and electromechanical engineering reflect our continued growth. With approximately 400 undergraduates and 200 graduate students, we provide a supportive learning environment. Our faculty engage students through project-based learning, research, and industry partnershipsโ€”helping them translate classroom learning into real-world success.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Teach Electrical and Computer Engineering courses

  • Assist in cultivating business connections and partnerships in the field and help integrate innovative experiential learning opportunities, such as internships, co-ops, and industry-sponsored projects, into the curriculum.

  • Maintain current, industry-aligned course content

  • Mentor students academically and professionally

  • Hold regular office hours

  • Contribute to departmental and institutional service

  • Foster a collegial and collaborative environment


Qualifications:

  • M.S. in Electrical or Computer Engineering (or related field); Ph.D. in Engineering Education with B.S. in ECE also considered

  • Strong background in ECE disciplines

  • Demonstrated or potential excellence in teaching

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

  • Experience in or commitment to developing industry partnerships, internships/co-ops, or project-based learning opportunities for students.

Work Location

This is an on-campus position as employees are essential in order to provide a fully on-campus, residential college experience for our students and the community.


Compensation:

The expected 9-month base salary range (paid over 12 months) for the Assistant Professor or Practice position is $78,000-$90,000; for the Associate Professor of Practice is $90,000-$110,000, and for the Full Professor of Practice is $110,000-$120,000. The actual pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as, but not limited to, candidate qualifications and prior experience, scope of responsibilities, internal equity, and market considerations.
