Job description

The Opportunity: We are seeking to hire a Computer Support Administrator to join our IS Team. Under the direction of the Director of Information Technology, this individual performs tasks related to the design, installation, and support of the organization's computer systems, device endpoints and network segments.
Installs, configures, and maintains computer hardware and software; analyzes problems and monitors performance to ensure their efficiency and availability to users.
Installs, configures, and maintains user endpoint hardware and software; analyzes problems and monitors performance to ensure their efficiency and availability to users.
Gathers data to evaluate the system's performance, identifies user needs, and determines system and network requirements to make recommendations for future computer upgrades.
Monitors computer systems security, responding to cyber-attacks.
Brings broad technical knowledge and the ability to perform duties across device endpoints and end-user support in a small IT team.
What You'll Do:
  • Maintain and administer computers and related computing environments including computer hardware, systems software, IP Phones, and applications software.
  • Design and monitor data backups and disaster recovery operations.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, or other computer problems.
  • Configure, monitor and maintain on-premises Active Directory instance, group policies, and identity management.
  • Configure, monitor, and maintain Office 365 instance and applications.
  • Monitor and maintain Endpoint protection software.
  • Install and maintain desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and workstation software.
  • Configure, monitor, and maintain mobile device management consoles.
  • Coordinate computer access and use.
  • Design, configure, and test computer hardware and operating system software.
  • Confer with computer and network users by telephone, email, remote connectivity, and in person about how to solve existing system problems.
  • Address support request tickets in a timely manner and elevates support requests in accordance with department policies.
  • Coordinate with vendors and with company personnel to facilitate purchases.
  • Maintain logs and configuration documentation related to computer system functions.
  • Performs computer and data recovery operations from system backups in the event of computer system failure.
  • Adheres to documented standards defined by the Director of Information Technology and organization best practice.
  • Assists the Director of Information Technology in the development and maintenance of the organization Computer Systems Risk Management plan, including identification and implementation of risk mitigation strategies.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Performs other related essential functions as required.

What We're Looking For:
  • Possession of a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems preferred. A minimum of one year's experience in installing and/or maintaining PC equipment required.
  • Associate degree with relevant experience will be considered.
  • Additional experience will be considered in lieu of an Associate degree.
  • Additional certifications in computer operations and/or computer system support preferred.
