Job description

The Computer Technician is responsible for the installation, assembly, and testing of rackmount servers within a small team environment. This role requires proficiency in Windows Server and Linux OS installation, regular physical handling including lifting up to 50 lbs, and bilingual communication in Chinese and English to support equipment setup and network troubleshooting projects.

Responsibilities

  • Install and assemble hardware components and rackmount servers
  • Install and configure Windows Server and Linux operating systems
  • Perform system testing and troubleshooting to ensure hardware and software functionality
  • Set up and maintain server racks and network equipment
  • Handle physical tasks including daily lifting of equipment up to 50 lbs
  • Communicate effectively in both Chinese and English within the team
  • Use standard IT tools regularly to support maintenance and setup tasks

Required Qualifications

  • Experience with Windows Server installation
  • Experience with Linux OS installation
  • Strong hardware assembly skills
  • Proven troubleshooting abilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of computer hardware maintenance experience
  • Associate degree in Information Technology or related field
