Job description

Senior Network Engineer

Duties: Collaborate with network staff and software development team to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems for fulfilling business objectives and processes. Work with executive team members, decision makers, and stakeholders to define business requirements and systems goals, and to identify and resolve business systems issues. Design and deploy network solutions and enhancements to existing network deployments, software, and operating systems. Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions. Conduct research on improvements to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts. Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure system-related products and services. Gauge the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems. Develop and implement strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems. Propose and create Network design models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to aid development teams. Maintain IPSEC VPNs in both data center and AWS environments. Ensure system connectivity, compatibility and interoperability for servers, shared software, and other applications. Create and maintain documentation as it relates to network configuration, mapping, and processes. Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems. Monitor and test system performance. Prepare and deliver system performance statistics and reports. Provide guidance and assign tasks to Network Engineers and act as an escalation point for the service team.

Requirements: Requires Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field of study, and 5 years of experience in any job title/occupation/position involving core network equipment, Amazon Web Services, hospitality Internet of Things (IoT) and captive portal services. Experience specified must include 5 years of experience with each of the following: Captive Portals and RADIUS-based authentication; Nomadix Gateways, Firewalls, Switching and Access Points in a hospitality setting; Wi-Fi analytics and heatmapping software (e.g., Ekahau, Haminia or iBwave); and Relational Database Services hosted on AWS. Experience specified must include 2 years of experience working with hospitality brand technical standards (e.g., Marriott, Hyatt, Hilton, Choice, etc.). Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week. Requires up to 50% domestic/international travel.
