Overall Purpose

This position maintains the hardware and software necessary for a hardened computer network, provides technical analysis with a specialty in Local Area Networks (LANs) or Wide Area Networks (WANs) with a focus on performance, maintenance, problem resolution and routine hardware configuration.

Essential Functions

  • Configure, test, and maintain LAN/WAN equipment and related services for Web support
  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve network problems
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all implemented networks
  • Maintain and support company's LAN/WAN environment and Web Hosting Services
  • Perform daily maintenance, problem resolution and hardware configuration
  • Perform maintenance of all Firewalls and attend Firewall Review Board meetings
  • Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation
  • Comply with all security policies and procedures, to ensure that the highest level of system and data confidentiality, integrity and availability is maintained.
  • Support the company's commitment to risk management and protecting the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education or experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems or related field, with a focus in networking or engineering.
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience.
  • Hands-on experience implementing and administrating network devices and setting and maintaining policies and rights within a network environment
  • Knowledge of any of the following equipment or disciplines: Firewalls, Load Balancers, Cisco and network switches, Cisco routers, Cisco VPN, and Juniper equipment
  • A good understanding of the OSI network model, Ethernet, and TCP/IP networking
  • Basic understanding of virtualization and its impact on network designs and familiarity with ESX and vSwitch technology.
  • A practical level of experience implementing and administrating common TCP/IP-based services, including DNS, DHCP, HTTP, HTTPS, SFTP, SSH, SSL, SMTP, etc.
  • Working knowledge of common network monitoring and security utilities
  • Effective analytical and decision-making skills to determine solutions such as hardware vs. software, hardware vs. firmware, software vs. operating system, network vs. application/systems, and patterned vs. non-repeatable problems
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and maintain industry knowledge
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current Cisco, Palo Alto, Juniper or equivalent common industry certifications, i.e. CCNA.

Physical Requirements

Working conditions consist of a normal office environment. Work is primarily sedentary and requires extensive use of a computer and involves sitting for periods of approximately four hours. Work also requires a moderate level of standing, walking, kneeling, reaching and lifting. Must be able to lift 20 pounds occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently. Requires visual acuity and dexterity to view, prepare, and manipulate documents and office equipment including personal computers. Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers.

The base pay scale for this position in:
Phoenix, AZ in USD per year is: $64,000 - $88,000.
Additionally, candidates are eligible for a discretionary incentive plan and benefits.
