Job description

SUMMARY:
The Senior Network Engineer designs, implements, supports, and improves enterprise network infrastructure across voice, data, LAN, WAN, and Wi-Fi environments. This role is responsible for evaluating new technologies and providing hands-on engineering, operational support, and troubleshooting for Cisco, Extreme, and HP networks across the Gillette Stadium campus in Foxborough, MA, and all TKG companies and locations, including TKG, NEP, KSE, IFP, KAGR, and residential sites.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Evaluate and recommend new technologies to enhance current capabilities. Design and deploy wired and wireless network infrastructure solutions for both public and private environments, including fiber-based backhaul solutions.
  2. Track network roadmaps, manage RFQs and benchmarks, and support strategic planning for future infrastructure improvements.
  3. Resolve issues related to traffic flow, security, backhaul, and mobile data offloading. Provide engineering support across a broad range of programs by analyzing, planning, implementing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and enhancing complex network systems.
  4. Develop security policies for trusted and untrusted Wi-Fi access and continuously improve network security in alignment with industry best practices. Maintain and protect personally identifiable information and other confidential data in accordance with applicable privacy regulations, including HIPAA and Massachusetts privacy requirements.
  5. Receive assignments in the form of objectives and establish plans to meet defined goals, timelines, and schedules. Work on complex problems requiring in-depth analysis of technical and operational factors.
  6. Manage structured cabling infrastructure, telecommunications systems, and third-party support vendors.
  7. Maintain and monitor network and security management systems, respond to incidents, events, and alerts, manage asset inventories, and keep system and network diagrams and documentation current.
  8. Special projects and assignments as business dictates
  9. Responsible for the creation, maintenance and control of all personal identifiable information or any other information protected by Confidentiality and Privacy Standards see Mass Regulations on Personal Identity Regulations and HIPAA

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience as a Network Engineer.
  • 5+ years of experience architecting large-scale wireless infrastructure, including outdoor or carrier-grade Wi-Fi environments. Strong knowledge of wireless standards such as 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax and wireless LAN design, including site surveys.
  • 5+ years of experience with Layer 2 protocols, including STP, 802.1d/s/w, 802.1q, LACP, and 802.1x, as well as Layer 3 protocols such as IPv4/IPv6, TCP, UDP, ARP, HSRP/VRRP, SNMP, and NAT.
  • 5+ years of experience with routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, ECMP, and VRFs, along with experience in stateful firewalls, non-stateful filtering, and packet inspection.
  • Experience with network monitoring and management platforms, including SolarWinds. Proficiency with Cisco routers, switches, Cisco FTD next-generation firewalls (NGFW), Cisco Firepower Management Center (FMC), Microsoft Azure networking and cloud infrastructure, Catalyst Center, Cisco ISE, HP switches, Aruba ClearPass, Extreme Networks, and network automation tools.
  • Strong understanding of the OSI model, IT standards, procedures, and policies. Ability to work independently, make sound technical decisions, communicate effectively, document work clearly, and manage multiple priorities with strong attention to detail.
  • Must be able to learn new tasks quickly, complete assignments independently, and make timely decisions within the context of operational workflows.
