Job description

As a Senior Network Architect, you will design, develop and maintain secure networks for our clients. You will be responsible for conceptualizing network architecture, identifying business requirements, creating designs and prototypes, and executing testing and training activities. Additionally, you will establish overall network standards, guidelines, leadingedge practices, and approved network techniques and approaches. You will act as a thought leader for the organization's network vision and goals as well as assist leadership with the tactical and strategic direction of the division/organization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop recommendations that involve engineering development, integration, and interface design analysis, installation, fielding and field analysis, operation, maintenance, and testing of customers' communication systems and network hardware and software
  • Support the local, regional and wide area networks (WANs), and clients' communication systems and networks including voice, video, data, and imagery information
  • Review and analyze the existing network architecture and provide designs of current/modern WAN/MAN/LAN technologies. Recommend best practices such as Software Defined Network (SDN), Intent-based networking, and network segmentation protocols, etc., to improve the existing architecture and meet new networking requirements
  • Design telecommunications circuit specifications
  • Identity the need for routers, switches, and encryption devices to support enterprise services
  • Deliver service catalog items for automatically provisioning network configurations
  • Develop and maintain network architecture specifications and artifacts

Qualifications

  • Preferred Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, information technology, or other related field or equivalent experience required
  • Preferred CCNP and/or CCIE certification
  • Preferred 10+ years of Cisco experience with other Network Platforms Juniper, Netgear and Fortinet a plus
  • Extensive experience with Cisco routing platforms, such as Aggregation Service Routers (ASRs) and Integrated Service Routers (ISRs)
  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of routing protocols and technologies including BGP, EIGRP, DMVPN, and GRE
  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of Layer 2 technologies including STP, MST, and VLANS
  • Demonstrated experience in overseeing and troubleshooting complex LAN issues and resolving WAN problems and implementing, integrating, and supporting cost-effective, high-performance IP and LAN/WAN solutions
  • Experience with network design and traffic engineering
  • Preferred knowledge of AWS and Azure cloud solutions; also experience with working with SDNs
  • Experience with providing senior-level engineering support and subject matter expertise
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with others; conducts working relationships in a manner acceptable to others and to the organization
  • Possess a capacity and passion for cross-functional learning, experimentation, and innovation
  • Customer service focused and ability to work effectively within multiple levels of the organization
  • High sense of urgency with the ability to meet deadlines and changing priorities
