Job description

Join us at Entrust

At Entrust, we're shaping the future of identity centric security solutions. From our comprehensive portfolio of solutions to our flexible, global workplace, we empower careers, foster collaboration, and build solutions that help keep the world moving safely.

Get to Know Us

Headquartered in Minnesota, Entrust is an industry leader in identity-centric security solutions, serving over 150 countries with cutting-edge, scalable technologies. But our secret weapon? Our people. It's the curiosity, dedication, and innovation that drive our success and help us anticipate the future.

We are seeking a highly technical and hands-on Sr. Platform Engineer to help design and lead the implementation of private datacenter Infrastructure-as-a-Service capabilities.

This role is responsible for translating service architecture into working, automated, and consumable infrastructure services, starting with self-service networking and expanding into compute, storage, load balancing and adjacent platform capabilities.

The ideal candidate is deeply experienced in building real-world private cloud or platform engineering solutions, and is equally comfortable working across networking, virtualization, and automation domains.

This is not an architecture-only role - this is a hands-on builder role responsible for delivering the first generation of your internal infrastructure-as-a-service platform.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the Infrastructure Architect, Infrastructure Leadership, and domains leads to implement the organization's private cloud and Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) strategy
  • Drive the shift from ticket-based infrastructure fulfillment to controlled self-service and automated provisioning
  • Translate target-state architecture into scalable, automated, and supportable infrastructure services
  • Lead the design and implementation of self-service infrastructure capabilities, including with networking services and expanding to compute, storage, load balancing and adjacent platform services
  • Partner with Infrastructure Architect and domain leads to build AIOps capabilities in Infrastructure CoE
  • Design and implement self-service networking capabilities that allow product teams to provision approved network connectivity, security flows and IP whitelisting
  • Build and maintain automation workflows, infrastructure templates, service blueprints, and orchestration processes that enable standardized service delivery
  • Build reusable automation modules, templates, pipelines, and service blueprints for networking, compute, storage, and adjacent infrastructure services
  • Develop integration patterns between virtualization, network, storage, security, and service management platforms
  • Develop API-based integrations across infrastructure platforms, service management systems, orchestration tools, and approval workflows
  • Establish Git-based development practices for infrastructure automation, including branching, code review, testing, release management, and rollback patterns
  • Define and implement the technical components required to support a service catalog, onboarding model, and infrastructure consumption framework
  • Evaluate existing infrastructure platforms and recommend improvements to enable automation, self-service, and platform scalability
  • Help establish platform engineering practices, standards, and operating procedures to support Infrastructure-as-a-Service delivery
  • Drive implementation of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Network as Code (NaC), and automated provisioning capabilities where appropriate
  • Ensure infrastructure services are secure, auditable, resilient, and compliant with enterprise governance requirements
  • Act as the aaS technical SME and hands-on contributor, providing implementation guidance, troubleshooting complex platform challenges, and removing technical roadblocks
  • Document service architectures, automation workflows, operational procedures, and technical standards to support long-term sustainability and operational excellence
  • Contribute to the roadmap for future capabilities including compute services, storage services, lifecycle automation, capacity management, and consumption-based service models

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Network engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 10+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, platform engineering, cloud engineering, Infrastructure DevOps, or infrastructure automation roles.
  • Must have strong hands-on knowledge and experience of enterprise networking concepts, including routing, switching, segmentation, firewalls, load balancing, DNS, IPAM, and security policy enforcement
  • Strong hands-on experience designing and building automation-driven infrastructure services in enterprise environments.
  • Proven experience implementing private cloud, internal Infrastructure-as-a-Service, platform engineering, or self-service infrastructure capabilities.
  • Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation frameworks such as Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, Python, or equivalent tools.
  • Experience building automated provisioning workflows for infrastructure services, including networking, compute, storage, or security services.
  • Experience working with APIs and integrating infrastructure platforms, service management tools, orchestration platforms, and automation pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps practices, including Git-based change control, CI/CD pipelines, code review, testing, and release management for infrastructure automation.
  • Experience with Network as Code, network automation, or policy-driven network provisioning
  • Strong hands-on experience with VMware vSphere or similar enterprise virtualization platforms
  • Experience with enterprise storage platforms such as NetApp or equivalent storage technologies
  • Ability to translate architecture, standards, and operational requirements into reliable, version-controlled, automated implementation patterns
  • Experience operating in large-scale enterprise environments supporting multiple internal product teams, tenants, or business units
  • Strong troubleshooting and systems integration skills across infrastructure, automation, networking, and platform services
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical implementation across multiple teams without direct management authority
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with architects, infrastructure engineers, security teams, operations teams, and technical leadership
