Job Summary:
Haas Automation, Inc. is the largest machine tool builder in the western world, seeking world-class talent across various departments. The Network Engineer 2 is responsible for installing and maintaining Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) for the enterprise, while also troubleshooting network issues and supporting users.
Responsibilities:
• Performs analysis of network needs and contributes to design of network architecture, integration, and installation.
• Utilizes expertise in creating network and enterprise-wide solutions and is generally server and workstation based in focus. Includes LAN/WAN connectivity through switches and routers.
• Add new users to the directory and specifies their directory structures and system access.
• Troubleshoots network usage and peripheral issues.
• Supports PC Specialist, augments them as required.
• Resolves LAN/WAN connectivity issues and maintains LAN/WAN connections.
• Analyzes business needs and designs, installs, and supports network solutions on multiple platforms in our LAN/WAN architecture.
• Installs and maintains local area network hardware and software, including servers, peripherals, network devices, wireless access points and wiring.
• Evaluates local area network hardware and software requirements and capabilities and makes recommendations.
• Monitors and maintains the company E-mail system.
• Monitors and maintains the company Internet access.
• Coordinates installation of hardware and software by others.
• Provides support to, and trains users in local area network administration and usage.
• Monitors and maintains network stability.
• Communicates and coordinates network schedule, backups, and downtime to users.
• Coordinates third-party maintenance for network hardware, software, and telecommunications services.
• May coordinate other network engineers and Desktop Support Technicians.
• Prepares and maintains documentation of network configurations and cabling layouts.
• Use skills to accurately estimate workload.
• Use skills to delivery high quality work product in a timely manner.
• Communicate effectively both horizontally with peers and customers, and vertically with management.
• High sense of teamwork.
• Employees are expected to follow instructions, procedures and to escalate any issue impacting workflow, quality, etc.
• Employees must exhibit honesty and integrity as well as demonstrate adherence to rules, procedures and policies.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Requires network hardware, software, and NOS expertise.
• 6+ years related experience
Preferred:
• Bachelor's Degree BA/BS/BFA/BSA from a four-year college or university is required, plus additional related experience, training and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Preferred Major: Computer Science
• 5-10 years
