JOB DESCRIPTION:
Monitor students in the cafeteria, hallways, restrooms, school grounds, and parking lots to ensure student behavior and safety.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Assist with student management and supervision in and around the campus common areas.
  2. Monitor cafeteria, hallways, restrooms, stairwells, gyms, classrooms, grounds, and parking lots to ensure proper behavior from students.
  3. Monitor and review video from security cameras.
  4. Report any inappropriate activities or unauthorized individuals on campus.
  5. Report tardiness, truancies, and other related incidents to administration.
  6. Monitor detention/ISS when necessary.
  7. Assist administration in enforcing school and District rules, regulations, and policies regarding student discipline.
  8. Assist in managing student behavior, including crisis intervention, physical management of disruptive students and inappropriate behaviors, as needed.
  9. Screen visitors, check hall passes, and supervise bus loading and unloading.
  10. Escort students and visitors to designated locations as needed.
  11. Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
  12. Deliver messages to students and staff as needed.
  13. Maintain good working relationship and professional demeanor with students, staff, parents, visitors, community members, etc.
  14. Assist in maintaining administrative records and preparing required reports.
  15. Watch for and report irregularities such as fire hazards, security doors left unlocked, and any unusual activity.
  16. Meet regularly with administration.
  17. Participate in staff development training programs to improve job performance.
  18. Participate in staff meetings and special events as assigned.
  19. Maintains confidentiality.
  20. Regular attendance.
  21. Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE:

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
  • High school diploma or GED

Knowledge/Skills:
  • Current certification in de-escalation and restraint techniques or completion of certification within 30 school days of employment
