Position Overview Primary Function: Maintains the Visual Art Building sculpture, drawing, and painting studios, and assists studio art faculty. This position receives direct supervision in which assignments and instructions are clearly and regularly explained. Completed assignments are routinely reviewed by the supervisor for correctness.

Position Appointment Details: Career Band: NE9 Hourly position Term Position Target Hire Date: As soon as possible. This position has an end date of June 30, 2027. Position Description Typical Duties & Responsibilities: Maintenance of studios and equipment for sculpture, drawing, and painting studios Installation and deinstallation of exhibits in Carlos Gallery and elsewhere for special events Equipment and safety demonstrations for students Assist students in use of equipment and techniques Provide guidance and instruction for work-study students Judgment Required: Judgment and discretion as to the use of established policies are required to perform the essential duties of this position.

Machines & Equipment Used: Woodworking, metal fabrication & welding, computers, 3d printers, CNC cutter, laser cutter, foundry, spray booth, and printing equipment Personal Interaction/Communications: Student Contact: Assists students with use of studio equipment and techniques; oversees work-study students Internal (Operations Committee, Faculty, Administrative department heads): Works with studio art faculty and interacts with Facilities Management personnel External (Regents & Trustees, government officials or agencies, visitors, parents, other institutions, colleges, or companies, suppliers): Interacts with suppliers Attributes of a Successful Candidate Education: High school Experience: Woodworking machinery, metalworking, computer modeling Job-Related Skills: Woodworking, metalworking, computer modeling, Adobe Creative Suite Licenses/Certification: Supplemental Information Working Environment: Woodworking, metalworking studio - dusty, messy Digital computer lab Physical Requirements: Ability to stand Squat, Bend, Lift and move 50 lbs or more, Operate machinery and tools of various sizes.
