Job description

Job Title:         Manufacturing Engineer
Client:              Heavy Machine Manufacturing Company
Duration:         1 Year 9 Months (possible extension)
Location:         Milan, IL 61264
Shift:                1st Shift – 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Role Overview
• Plan, coordinate, and perform manufacturing engineering work for projects or processes
• Work within enterprise product delivery and order fulfillment processes
• Handle projects of limited scope under established guidelines
• Assign and review work of support personnel and contractors
• Operate in a team-based manufacturing environment

Key Responsibilities
• Support data collection and review for physical warehouse layouts
• Verify legacy warehouse operating system data
• Lead or support tactical optimization projects across facilities
• Populate data sets for system readiness and perform gap analysis
• Validate and create AutoCAD warehouse layout representations
• Support reconfiguration and data projects for US regional distribution centers

Major Duties
• Analyze manufacturing and material processes under senior guidance
• Define methods, process steps, plant, machinery, and equipment requirements
• Support feasibility testing of proposed engineering solutions
• Draft and review engineering standards and specifications
• Evaluate effectiveness of engineering standards
• Perform inspections to assess quality and integrity of installations
• Recommend corrective actions to meet specifications and regulations
• Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers as primary contact
• Identify process and system gaps and support change management efforts
