Job description

Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Near Lemont, IL
Hire Type: Long Term Contract
Pay: $90k-$100k/yr.

This position is responsible for managing cross-functional projects delivering continuous improvement of safety, quality, delivery, and cost through the elimination of waste from production processes, launching new products/processes into operations, and educating and empowering production staff.

Job Duties:
  • Manage Manufacturing Engineering projects, including preparation of detailed project plans with estimated task hours and timelines for development, production, validation, and launch; responsible for on-time, on-budget delivery
  • Improve manufacturing processes through review of engineering deliverables for technical accuracy and adherence to engineering standards and project schedules
  • Interact with Design Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to ensure design for manufacturability of new products; participate in design review process and act as liaison from inception through shipment
  • Support new product launches by reviewing design, identifying opportunities for improved manufacturability, reduced cost, and improved process reliability; provide manufacturing feasibility input
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement; analyze capital equipment needs and implement capital projects
  • Lead projects through detailed planning and execution across equipment upgrades and optimizations
  • Design and implement tooling and fixtures focused on error-proofing and waste reduction while improving safety
  • Conduct and participate in Process Mapping, FMEA, RIEs, 8-Step Problem Solving, Quality Control Plan development, and DFM initiatives
  • Assist in hiring, training, and mentoring manufacturing engineers and support staff
  • Support manufacturing transformation initiatives including Industry 4.0 and advanced automation solutions
  • Create and improve project delivery processes and standard tools for automation solutions
Qualifications:
  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or related Engineering field
  • 5+ years of total experience
  • Computer proficiency with data analysis programs
  • Strong problem-solving skills with experience using root cause analysis techniques
  • Experience with new product production integration or operational improvement projects
  • Six Sigma, Red X, or other problem-solving certification
  • CAD/CAM experience
  • Experience working cross-functionally across all levels of the organization
