Job description

Primary Responsibilities /Accountabilities/ Essential Functions:

  • Assist in weekly cage cleaning
  • Weigh rats weekly/maintain weight log
  • Be present for testing sessions Monday - Saturday, 11:00 - 3:00 as needed Maintain testing log and video database
  • Be present for weekly meet ups with vivarium leadership team
  • Be present for weekly lab meeting with entire team
  • Monitor/Communicate with vivarium coordinator regarding PPE/food/bedding orders

Equipment Use and Responsibility

  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient typing skills.
  • Must be comfortable working in a professional environment with all levels of staff and faculty.
  • Must be service oriented.
  • Must be comfortable with GCU's campus and departments to direct guests, students and staff.
  • Must have prior computer knowledge and be able to copy, scan and fax documents.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Self-motivated with a desire to learn and serve

Experience/ Education

Grand Canyon University is committed to a student first policy. Therefore, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment:

Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor's program or Master's program.

Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.

Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.

Pay Rate: Minimum Wage
Anticipated End Date: June 30, 2027
