Job description


Micropore, Inc. a small manufacturing facility in Elkton, MD that conducts extrusion, extraction, and final packaging of a unique material. Come work with us at Micropore in Elkton, MD. We are looking for manufacturing personnel while we grow astronomically! We make a world-class carbon dioxide adsorbent that is integrated in the US military, 75% of the free world submarines and the anesthesia market. Manufacturing experience is preferred, but not required! We are hiring all levels of manufacturing personnel.
This position is available on either the day shift Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 12PM or 12:30PM to 4:30PM. The position is based at our Elkton facility, and training will be provided.
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Production Manager, the Manufacturing Operator uses equipment to assist with manufacturing, packaging, and other steps related to the production process.
Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Become proficient at the following tasks:
    • Run equipment independently.
    • Check tolerances.
    • Package product.
    • Inline QC of manufactured parts
    • Winding/punching/stamping/chopping of materials.
  • Maintain clear and concise records.
  • Recognize equipment malfunction and report to Supervisor.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on the production equipment.
  • Maintain ISO 9001 in-house training tasks.
  • Communicate with Production Manager regarding progress daily.
  • Attend production, safety, and companywide meetings.
  • Maintain neat and orderly work area and equipment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Demonstrated Skills:
  • Be mechanically inclined
  • Use gauges and measurement instruments and perform a quality inspection of all parts and components
  • Available for shift work and overtime
  • Read, write, and comprehend simple work instructions and procedures
  • Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
  • Team player and able to build and maintain relationships
  • Flexible to change and open to constructive feedback
  • Prior experience in a LEAN Manufacturing environment/practiced principles knowledge preferred
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Learn new techniques quickly
  • Always represent the company in a professional manner
  • Able to bend, stand, squat, and lift up to 50 lbs. consistently
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
