POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Computer Technician position is a building level position which provides technical support to the school's students and staff. This position is responsible for configuring and maintaining laptops and desktops in a Windows environment, as well as resolving various software and hardware issues with other district owned equipment. This position reports to the Director of Technology and is evaluated on an annual basis.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Monitor helpdesk and quickly respond to submitted trouble tickets
• Assist staff by answering questions over the phone, by email, and in person
• Support staff with technology-related problems in a responsive and service-oriented manner.
• Configure, maintain, and provide training for technology-related equipment
• Assist with non-technology related equipment, such as TVs, sound systems, and ID badges
• Manage time and projects effectively.
• Assist with the troubleshooting, installation, and implementation of new equipment
• Maintain device inventory in a timely and accurate manner
• Other duties as assigned by the department supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to multi-task and work with frequent interruptions
• Ability to work both independently and as a team
• Ability to communicate with diverse individuals and/or groups
• Ability to work in a school setting and maintain confidentiality
• Evidence of good judgement, flexibility, and emotional maturity
• Ability to lift 25 pounds and climb a ladder
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
• High School Diploma, Associates Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred
• CompTIA or Microsoft Certification Preferred
• 1-2 years experience in a school or customer service setting
