Job description

▶ Security Installation Technician (Access Control) Immediate Openings, People Focused Team!

Full Time | Pays $35.00 - $45.00 per hour | Location: West Chicago, IL with occasional travel as needed

SUPERIOR Communication Services is growing and we’re looking for motivated, dependable Security Installation Technicians to join our team. If you have experience with security systems/access control and you want a company where your skills matter, this is the place for you.

Duties

  • Install, test, and commission commercial security systems
  • Roughing in, terminating, and testing copper cabling. Fiber termination experience is a plus
  • Installing pathway supports such as j hooks and ladder trays
  • Servicing/troubleshooting network cabling in a commercial environment
  • Installing closet hardware including backboards, connecting blocks, racks, patch panels and fiber enclosures
  • Perform installation of security related equipment for commercial industries, including installing, testing, and commissioning door hardware & camera systems
  • Willingness to travel to national job sites as needed

Skills

  • Strong understanding of computer networking principles related to security systems and remote access software.
  • Mechanical knowledge for installing hardware components such as sensors, locks, CCTV cameras, and alarm devices.
  • Experience working as a service technician in security or telecommunication fields with a focus on low voltage systems.
  • Knowledge of security system components including CCTV cameras, sensors, alarms (fire alarm systems), IDS devices, surveillance equipment, and locksmithing basics.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Manufacturer certifications or AV/fiber experience a plus.
