Job description

Summary:  The Applications Supervisor will oversee all aspects of systems installation, maintenance, support and application development for all CharterCARE entities.  Develop, plan, and manage projects within hospital departments and outside physician offices. Coordinate and communicate changes with system functionality within the organization.  Coordinate and communicate the integration of clinical, financial, and ancillary systems as part of the analytical support team. The Applications Supervisor will guide development of strategic applications to improve communication and collaboration across the enterprise. Meet the reporting needs of management and other hospital staff with regards to patient, physician, employee, vendor, or other relevant information. Meet with decision makers and end users to define projects, set expectations, and identify/resolve system issues. Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively with departmental users and managers. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of systems analysts and developers. Develop system and procedural processes to ensure correct system access for all users. Lead and assist in system audits and cleanup. Work with external organizations such as software vendors or other organizations to communicate needs and/or resolve issues.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Information systems, Computer Science, other related discipline; or equivalent experience. 8 to 10 years progressive experience in information systems, healthcare preferred.  3 to 5 years management/leadership experience.

Experience: 5 to 8 years progressive experience in  hospital information systems with skills in systems analysis and project management; 1-3 years leadership experience; excellent oral and written communication skills; relevant technical skills; problem-solving skills; self-motivated; ability to work independently and lead teams.  Experienced in systems analysis methodologies and techniques; fourth generation application development tools and report writing experience; experienced in project management tools and methodologies; familiarity with current information and telecommunications technology.  Must demonstrate appropriate time management skills and the ability to meet project deadlines

Working Conditions, Physical Environment and/or Safety Requirements: Working environment is an air-conditioned office with occasional exposure to computer room air conditioned environment.  Must consider current safety requirements and ergonomics with regards to hardware recommendations and placement during system installation in other hospital departments.  Frequent use of personal computers.
