Software Engineering Lead (System Architecture) - Alpharetta, GA (multiple)
As a Software Engineering Lead, will apply clear understanding, deep knowledge, and ability to communicate technical details involving large and complex platforms. Will work on Movius' next-generation platform of cloud-based mobile communication services serving our customers.
Responsibilities:
  • Will work closely on end-to-end computer system architectural designs with internal teams including product managers, designers, developers, testers, service technicians and project managers as well as external customers and vendors in the design and development of high quality Enterprise platform.
  • Responsible for the design and development of new software or extensive software revisions for external customers.
  • Will serve as a technical expert by creating high-level architectural specifications and addressing problems of systems integration and compatibility.
  • Will perform research on the potential project feasibility to management.
  • Provides technical and system guidance to produce high quality, scalable, smart solutions to complex and robust platform, adjunct applications and interfaces, and a rich and growing ecosystem.
  • Will work with the design and development of core Enterprise platform, Networking, SaaS architecture, APIs, and API Gateways, applying experience with VoIP and telecommunications.
  • Will architect scalable systems using microservices and event-driven design patterns so that the solution is able to meet the current and future needs of the organization.
  • Will share and advocate best practices and sound designs while working to design scalable, redundant and robust platforms with a security first approach.
  • May use technologies such as Linux (RHEL) programming, shell scripting, and administration.
  • Will produce clear and concise documents to communicate complex ideas.
  • Will undertake continual research and learning of industry trends, innovations and techniques.
  • Will work with databases which may include PostgreSQL, SQLite, MySQL, Elasticsearch, and MongoDB.
  • Will use programming and scripting languages, which may include C, C++, Ruby, Rails, Java, Javascript, Bash, AWK, SED, Python, Node.js, and Perl.
  • Will design, implement, and maintain VoIP solutions using Kamailio, and SBCs such as Oracle Acme Packet or Perimeta.
  • Will work with VoIP technologies (SIP, RTP, STUN, TURN, and WebRTC).
  • Will mentor junior application developers, perform code reviews, and enforce coding best practices.
  • Will provide post-implementation support through software maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrades.
  • Will perform related professional duties as required.

Requirements:
  • Requires Bachelor's degree/foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Requires 8 years of software development experience, to include:
    • 8 years of experience with RESTful APIs and networking concepts;
    • 8 years of experience with architectural patterns (Microservices architecture, Event driven architecture, etc.), design principles, and frameworks for creating scalable and maintainable systems;
    • 8 years of experience working with SMS/MMS gateways and real-time communication protocols;
    • 6 years of experience with data modelling, database designing, Multi-threading, and performance tuning;
    • 5 years of VOIP Application development using C, C++, and/or Ruby.
    • 5 years of experience with version control systems (e.g., Bitbucket) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Requires excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues
  • Employer will also accept a Master's degree/foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field with 6 years of above experience.
  • Experience may be gained concurrently.
