Position Summary
Salary: Based on education and experience commensurate with Alabama Community College System Salary Schedule D1 ($46,590-$94,363). This is a nine-month position. Summer employment may be available (an additional $14,384-$29,184) dependent upon enrollment.
This is a full-time teaching position with responsibility for planning, preparation, and presentation of quality instruction and for otherwise contributing to the fulfillment of the college's mission. This position reports to the Department Chairperson and Associate Dean.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
In addition to adhering to the policies and guidelines of the College and the ACCS Board of Trustees the employee will:
1. Provide instruction in the appropriate teaching environment(s) and evaluate student learning.
2. Prepare class and laboratory presentations.
3. Participate in curriculum development and evaluation and also recommend new or revised curriculum.
4. Provide academic advising to students.
5. Perform department/program responsibilities.
6. Perform institutional responsibilities that contribute to the fulfillment of the college's mission.
7. Follow institutional policies and procedures and fulfill the terms of employment.
8. Commitment to teaching and to helping students, an abiding interest in their field, and a desire to help the college maintain the standards appropriate to an institution of higher education.
9. Ability to maintain rapport with colleagues and students and to conduct themselves with a high level of professionalism.
10.Fulfill other duties and responsibilities as delegated by the President or academic dean.
Qualifications
Education: Master's degree with 18 graduate hours in Computer Science required
Experience: Three to five years of professional experience preferred

Sick Leave

Retirement
The TRS was established in 1939 to provide benefits to qualified persons employed by state-supported educational institutions. Responsibility for the management and administration of the TRS is vested in its Board of Control. The Boards of Control elect the Secretary-Treasurer who serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the RSA and is responsible for the day-to-day management of the RSA. The TRS is a defined benefit plan qualified under Section 401(a) of the Internal Revenue Code. Tuition Assistance
This tuition waiver program is designed for all full-time instructional and non-instructional employees of The Alabama College System and the Alabama Department of Postsecondary Education and their dependents as defined under by policy. The program will be coordinated by each institution for employees within The Alabama College System and the Alabama Department of Postsecondary Education. An application form for the tuition assistance program is available in the Human Resources office and should be completed prior to registration for classes.
