Job description

We are a growing IT company; a great place to start and grow your career!
CCS is a leading technology consulting firm providing best in class solutions to our clients for over 45 years. Expressed simply in our tagline - Right People, Right Results, Right Careers! Our philosophy is, in fact, an obsession that drives our behavior, our culture and our work. It's why we put tremendous emphasis on hiring individuals that embody the principles that align with our obsession. We continue to successfully provide network integration, support services, products solutions, and applications services to our valued clients in the northeast. Our focus is simple...our goal is to make technology easy and to help our clients use it as effectively as possible.
OVERVIEW
The Senior Project Manager is a hands-on delivery leader responsible for managing a full and varied portfolio of technical projects from initiation through closeout. Typical work spans IT infrastructure and network design and modernization; cloud and identity migrations such as email and tenant migrations, MFA and identity integrations, domain migrations, and cloud disaster recovery; physical security systems; on-site deployments; and managed services transitions. This is a delivery-focused role: success is measured by consistently landing complex technical projects on scope, on schedule, and on margin while keeping clients and engineering teams aligned.
This is a technically conversant project management role, not an engineering role. The successful candidate must understand the technologies they deliver well enough to plan credibly, coordinate engineers, scope and sequence work, read and interpret technical statements of work, and manage technical risk with confidence.
Custom Computer Specialists aligns with the Project Management Institute (PMI) and follows the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) framework, grounded in the Project Management Life Cycle (PMLC). This provides a structured yet adaptable approach that enables predictability, stakeholder engagement, financial discipline, and project success across varying client environments. Senior Project Managers are expected to hold PMP certification or demonstrate equivalent senior-level project management experience.
Salary: $75,000-$95,000
What You'll Do:
  • Project Delivery
    • Own the full project lifecycle - initiation, planning, execution, monitoring & control, and closeout - for a concurrent portfolio of client-facing technical projects.
    • Translate technical statements of work into executable project plans: work breakdown, sequencing, resource assignments, milestones, and cross-team dependencies across engineering and vendor resources.
    • Coordinate engineers and subcontractors - including mobilize-to-site deployments - to deliver installations, migrations, configurations, and cutovers with minimal disruption to client operations.
    • Lead client onboarding transitions on behalf of the Managed Services team - coordinating discovery, documentation, and clean handoff into steady-state support.
    • Manage technical scope, schedule, risk, and change control; anticipate delivery risks such as site readiness, equipment lead times, staging and validation, and cutover windows, and address them proactively.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for client and internal stakeholders, maintaining clear visibility into progress, dependencies, risks, and decisions.
    • Facilitate client and internal meetings, including kickoff, status, risk reviews, escalation sessions, and closeout reviews.
    Financial & Operational Ownership
    • Own project financials - budget, margin, resource utilization, billing milestones, accruals, invoicing triggers, and contract budget burndown.
    • Assign and manage resources to ensure projects are delivered within contractual obligations, operational expectations, and profit targets.
    • Ensure timely and accurate submission of monthly project accruals with Finance, and ensure invoicing occurs in accordance with the SOW and delivery schedule.
    • Maintain data accuracy and compliance across project management systems, time tracking, financial systems, and PMO dashboards.
    Governance & Continuous Improvement
    • Drive timely issue escalation and resolution following governance protocols, with clear documentation of ownership, decisions, and next steps.
    • Develop and maintain detailed project documentation, including project plans, change orders, status reports, dashboards, and executive summaries.
    • Identify and implement process, template, tooling, or resource-model improvements that reduce delivery cycle time, improve reporting consistency, or increase profitability.
    • Mentor and guide project managers, coordinators, and delivery stakeholders on delivery discipline, project controls, communication practices, and client delivery expectations.
    • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

What You Bring:
  • 7-10 years managing complex IT infrastructure and enterprise technology projects - for example network design and modernization; cloud and identity migrations (email and tenant migrations, MFA and identity integrations, domain migrations, disaster recovery); physical security systems; and managed services onboarding - across diverse client environments.
    • Technical fluency: able to hold credible working conversations with engineers, interpret technical SOWs and design documents, and manage technical scope, sequencing, and risk with confidence.
    • Proven delivery track record managing a concurrent portfolio of technical projects to scope, schedule, and margin in a matrixed, multi-stakeholder environment.
    • Strong financial acumen with budgets, profitability, resource utilization, billing milestones, accruals, invoicing triggers, and contract budget burndown.
    • Proficiency with project scheduling, financial tracking, and collaboration tools.
    • Excellent communication, facilitation, and documentation skills across client stakeholders, internal leadership, and technical delivery teams.
    • Ability to operate independently, manage ambiguity, and bring structure to undefined or evolving situations while maintaining delivery momentum.
    Preferred
    • Hands-on familiarity with the technologies delivered - for example Microsoft 365 / Exchange Online migrations, identity and MFA platforms, or physical security systems - sufficient to plan and de-risk delivery.
    • Experience within a managed services, professional services, or IT solutions provider environment.
    • PMP certification (held or in progress).
    • Bachelor's degree.
