THE ROLE:
AMD's Data Center Platform Engineering Group (DPEG) develops cloud-scale server solutions that power the world's leading cloud and telecom providers. As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will lead the architecture, design, validation, and debug of advanced server platforms and complex PCB designs from concept through production. Working across engineering, manufacturing, and supplier teams, you will drive technical execution, solve challenging design issues, and deliver high-quality products that balance performance, cost, reliability, and schedule.
THE PERSON:
The ideal candidate is a collaborative and technically strong engineer with deep expertise in server hardware and board design. You excel at solving complex problems, making sound technical decisions, and communicating effectively across teams and stakeholders. You are comfortable leading projects, mentoring engineers, and working in fast-paced environments where innovation, teamwork, and continuous improvement are valued.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead system architecture, hardware design, and board-level implementation for server platforms.
  • Develop specifications, schematics, BOMs, and design documentation.
  • Mentor engineers and oversee work from contractors and external design partners.
  • Drive PCB layout, design validation, simulation, and signal/power integrity analysis.
  • Lead system bring-up, validation, debugging, and hardware issue resolution.
  • Partner with suppliers and manufacturing teams to deliver high-quality products on schedule while balancing cost, performance, and reliability.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Expertise in analog, digital, and high-speed hardware design.
  • Experience with high-speed interfaces including PCIe, DDR, Ethernet, USB, and SAS/SATA.
  • Strong knowledge of high-speed PCB design, layout, and signal integrity principles.
  • Proven system-level and board-level debugging, validation, and performance analysis skills.
  • Understanding of power delivery architectures and server CPU/GPU platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to make technical trade-offs and lead cross-functional engineering efforts.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
