ABOUT THIS ROLE

As a Quality Engineering Technician Intern, you will bridge the gap between academic theory and world-class physical product manufacturing. Joining our Quality Assurance team, you will play a hands-on role in ensuring our mobile, solar-powered units meet strict structural, mechanical, and performance standards before they deploy to the field. This is an elite opportunity to own meaningful inspection projects, analyze physical data, and directly impact the reliability of hardware that protects businesses nationwide.

This role is based fully in-office out of our production facility in Spanish Fork, Utah.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform detailed physical, mechanical, and dimensional inspections on incoming components and assembled mobile units to ensure adherence to engineering blueprints.
  • Utilize precision measurement tools—including calipers, micrometers, and gauges—to identify dimensional deviations or structural defects.
  • Document inspection findings, generate non-conformance reports (NCRs), and track defect trends to help drive continuous improvement on the production floor.
  • Partner with full-time Quality and Manufacturing Engineers to troubleshoot root causes of mechanical assembly issues.
  • Maintain, organize, and calibrate standard QA measurement tools to ensure ongoing testing accuracy and compliance.
  • Contribute to the optimization of quality inspection documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE
  • Academic Background: Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
  • Technical Tooling: Direct, hands-on experience or academic coursework utilizing calipers, micrometers, and other foundational metrology/measurement tools.
  • Blueprint Literacy: Ability to read, interpret, and analyze basic mechanical drawings, schematics, and engineering blueprints.
  • Analytical Mindset: Exceptional attention to detail with a natural inclination for problem-solving, root-cause analysis, and data precision.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to confidently document technical data and present findings to the engineering team.

Scrappy & Collaborative: A proactive, self-starter mentality who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment and values collaborative teamwork.
