Responsibilities

The School of Architecture and Design at New York Tech seeks part-time Adjunct Faculty for courses in the Digital Art and Design department. Openings are available for daytime and evening courses across multiple specialties:

Open Positions & Responsibilities:


* UX Researcher (NYC Campus Only)
Teach graduate-level UX Research and Data Analysis. Experience with prototyping tools, usability testing, and teaching online is preferred.
* Animation & Virtual Production (NYC & LI Campuses)
Teach BFA courses in compositing, VFX, 2D/3D animation, portfolio development, and emerging tech like AR/VR.
* Design Historian (Online Asynchronous)
Teach BFA courses related to Design History I & II, covering visual communication evolution. Candidates should connect historical context to digital/interactive/AI-enhanced design practice.
* Motion Graphics (LI Campus Only)
Teach BFA courses in the fundamentals of motion design, animation, and storytelling using tools like After Effects. Guide students from storyboarding to final delivery using real-world briefs.
* Maya: Hard Surface Modeling (NYC Campus Only)
Teach BFA courses with a focus on Maya 3D modeling workflows, UV/texturing, and professional pipeline practices. Currently seeking for specialty in Hard Surface Modeling in Maya.
* Product Growth Design (NYC Campus Only)
Teach Graduate-level instruction in experimentation, in-app tracking metrics, UX strategy, and data-informed product growth frameworks.
* Visual Identity & Brand Systems (NYC & LI Campuses)
Teach BFA courses focused on building scalable brand systems using modern tools and AI-assisted workflows for enterprise-level clients related to Graphic Design and Visual Identity.

General Duties
* Collaborate with department chairs and coordinators on course progress.
* Support a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
* Adhere to university policies and academic integrity guidelines.

Qualifications

Qualifications (By Role):

UX Researcher- Master's or Bachelor's + 5 years' experience in UX Research/Data Analytics. Familiarity with usability testing tools required. Online and international teaching experience preferred.

Animation & Virtual Production - Master's or Bachelor's + 5 years in Animation, VFX, or Digital Arts. Proficiency in Maya, Unreal Engine, motion capture, and a strong portfolio required.

Design Historian - Master's+ in Design History, Visual Communication, or related field. Must bridge historical design with current practices and emerging tech; prior teaching/research experience required.

Motion Graphics - Bachelor's (Master's preferred) + 5 years in motion graphics. Expertise in After Effects, Adobe Suite, and possibly Cinema 4D or Blender. Experience with AI-assisted tools and critiques beneficial.

Maya - Hard Surface Modeling - Bachelor's (Master's preferred) + 5 years in 3D production. Expertise in Maya, clean topology, and real-time asset optimization. Teaching/mentoring experience strongly preferred.

Product Growth Design - Bachelor's (Master's preferred) + 5 years in product design or UX. Deep knowledge of growth models, tracking tools (Amplitude, Mixpanel), and experimentation strategy. Experience mentoring or teaching desirable.

Visual Identity - Bachelor's (Master's preferred) + 5 years in branding or art direction. Experience with scalable identity systems, enterprise branding, and AI/ML-based tools. Teaching or speaking experience a plus.
