Communications / Marketing Social Media Internship Opportunity

(Will work directly on art, interior design, luxury brand and furniture PR accounts).


23-year successful boutique PR + Marketing firm with highly respected clientele looking for in-house, part-time intern, approx. 25-45 hrs/mo., with the opportunity for advancement.


This self-directed, flexible person has the maturity to work remotely and, occasionally in a home-office space with the owner; is positive, organized, motivated and follows through in a timely manner. Excellent written-, social media- and phone-communication skills are required. Minor admin work is part of the position.


This is an excellent position for one who enjoys luxury brands and interior design--thrives on change and is curious about a variety of industries and clients. Position requires strong skills in: professional email correspondence, Word, Excel, Cision PR database (can show—must learn quickly), minimal Canva, Adobe Photoshop or equivalent graphic design program, a lot of online research & social media management, detail and, again, follow through.


Role Description

This is a part-time hybrid role for a Publicity & Social Media Intern. This role is located in Los Angeles, CA, but offers flexibility for remote work. The intern will help with PR, marketing communications and promoting PR initiatives.


The intern will addtionally work on social media marketing, writing posts and posting news clips with links, creating and managing social media content schedules. Daily tasks include developing and scheduling posts, engaging with followers, gathering content, and following through with posts and media correspondence.


Skills & Experience:

▪ Excellent written and verbal skills – will need to see letter writing samples

▪ Flexibility and follow through

▪ Social media skills with ability to write inteligent, on trend design related posts (can research industry publicstions for tone and voice)

▪ Decent phone skills – to make follow-up calls to media

▪ Learning/Using Cision as a priority in order to create media lists (will teach you)

▪ High levels of professionalism during all phases of client and media communication

▪ Graphic skills a plus (Canva or Photoshop)

▪ Adept computer skills

▪ Helping with multiple cross-marketing opportunities and projects

▪ This person will (or may):

▪ Develop extensive knowledge of client's products as well as the markets and industry

▪ Develop client collateral material including press releases, media alerts and pitches

▪ Develop and maintain extensive relationships across all media platforms including top-tier local/regional and national publication, trade media, weeklies, local/regional dailies and national/local broadcast in addition to high-traffic online outlets

▪ Proactively develop creative stories and pitch concepts to maximize media opportunities

▪ Think and plan strategically, including creative ideas for media pitching

▪ Assist with client events and launch strategies

▪ Periodically act as a contact for clients

▪ Manage pieces of large accounts and serve as lead on smaller accounts as assigned

Minimum 3 mo. commitment

Est. 10- 24 hrs/wk negotiable


Compensation: DOE / Unpaid internship with school credit, experience and resume building value. Will train to paid position.
