Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Information Security Engineer to join our Web and Email Security (WES) team to lead, design and implement strategy for data loss prevention in a hybrid platform environment. The ideal candidate will bring broad set security experiences including successful DLP techniques (On-Prem and On-Cloud) and knowledge across the layers of security defense (Endpoint, Proxy, Application, Infrastructure) to define and influence solutions. This position is designed to assure success in our next-generation ability to discover, react and address to new data loss pathways On-Prem and On-Cloud.


In this role, you will:

  • Lead design and implementation of Web and Email Security techniques for highly complex hybrid platform solutions
  • Participate in technical investigation of security related incidents and post incident digital forensics to identify causes and recommend future mitigation strategies
  • Provide security consulting on large projects for internal clients to ensure conformity with corporate information, security policy, and standards
  • Drive, design, document, and maintain a minimum viable baseline of security requirements and controls for for highly complex hybrid solutions related to data protection and Web and Email security techniques
  • Utilize subject matter knowledge in industry leading security solutions and best practices to implement one or more components of information security such as availability, integrity, confidentiality, risk management, threat identification, modeling, monitoring, incident response, access management, and business continuity
  • Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including management levels.
  • Lead a team to achieve objectives
  • Lead computer security incident response activities for highly complex events
  • Conduct technical investigation of security related incidents and post incident digital forensics to identify causes and recommend future mitigation strategies
  • Provide security consulting on large projects for internal clients to ensure conformity with corporate information, security policy, and standards
  • Design, document, test, maintain, and provide issue resolution recommendations for highly complex security solutions related to networking, cryptography, cloud, authentication and directory services, email, internet, applications, and endpoint security
  • Review and correlate security logs
  • Utilize subject matter knowledge in industry leading security solutions and best practices to implement one or more components of information security such as availability, integrity, confidentiality, risk management, threat identification, modeling, monitoring, incident response, access management, and business continuity
  • Identify security vulnerabilities and issues, perform risk assessments, and evaluate remediation alternatives
  • Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including managers
  • Lead a team to achieve objectives
  • Demonstrate proficiency in using AIassisted development and analysis tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot and approved codecentric agents)
  • Leverage AI to accelerate system design, coding, testing, analysis, and troubleshooting
  • Apply strong technical judgment when validating and integrating AIassisted outputs into solutions
  • Understand and account for model limitations, security risks, and operational considerations
  • Apply AI responsibly in development and production environments
  • Ensure AI usage aligns with security, compliance, privacy, and ethical standards


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Information Security Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 4+ years of experience in Web and Email Security
  • Experience with enterprise proxy platforms, Cloud Secure Web Gateways (SWG), or web filtering technologies
  • Experience with Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB) solutions and SaaS visibility/control


Desired Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with URL categorization, SaaS risk classification, and policy-driven access enforcement
  • Experience leveraging Splunk or comparable SIEM platforms for security investigation, and operational analysis related to web activity
  • Strong analytical, investigative, and problemsolving skills
  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance expectations within a large financial institution
  • Ability to operate in a fastpaced, highscrutiny environment with SLAs and operational accountability
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to partner effectively across business, engineering, and architecture teams

    Pay Range

    Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.

    $119,000.00 - $224,000.00
