SEACORP is seeking a well-qualified Computer Engineer IV.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Job Summary: SEACORP has an immediate need for a full-time Computer Engineer with a Secret clearance based at a government facilityin Olney, Maryland site. The selected applicant will perform work to assistwith the development and management of Government labs and DoD systems. Whilethese positions will mostly have regular business hours, some travel will berequired.
Job Responsibilities Include:
  • Design architecture, installation,configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of server and systemsconfigurations (hardware and software) to ensure their confidentiality,integrity, and availability.
  • Inaddition to design and development duties, computer hardware engineerssupervise the manufacturing and installation of computers and computer-relatedequipment.
  • Administer server-based systems,security devices, distributed applications, network storage, messaging, andperforms systems monitoring.
  • Potential to consult on network, and applicationissues to support computer systems' security and sustainability.
  • Successfulcompletion of training in Windows Administration will be required within thefirst 6 months of hire.
  • Apply the principles and techniques of computerscience, engineering, and mathematical analysis to the design, development,testing, and evaluation of the software and systems that enable computers toperform their many applications.
  • Solve technical problems that arise.
  • Involved in the design and development of many typesof software, including software for operating systems and network distribution,and compilers, which convert programs for execution on a computer.

Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in a technical field including butnot limited to Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering, ispreferred.
Experience: Minimum of 6 years of related work experience,preferably in IT Architecture and Design.
Ideal Skills and Experience:
  • A current Windows Administration certification is preferred.
  • Experience with DoD Cybersecurity, System Engineering, and/or Test & Evaluation processes is desired.
  • Understanding of the application of policy, process, and technical controls.
  • Position requires familiarity with System Development Life Cycle (SDLC), System Engineering process, Risk Management Framework (RMF) Authorization and Accreditation (A&A) processes and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) 800 series of special publications and other applicable DoD requirements.
  • Experience with the implementation of security controls, STIG application, and scanning on current Linux and/or Windows versions is necessary.
  • Examples of industry certification meeting this requirement is CompTIA's A+(ce), or Network+(ce) credential. CompTIA's Security+(ce) credential a plus.
  • Candidates must meet baseline eligibility for Cyber Security Workforce (CSWF) at the DoD 8570-M Information Assurance Manager, Level I (IAT-I) and/or DoD 8140 Intermediate/Journeyman in Specialty Area 451.
  • Must possess strong programming skills but are moreconcerned with developing algorithms and analyzing and solving programmingproblems than with actually writing code. The programming languages most oftenused are C, C++, and Java, with Fortran and COBOL used less commonly.

Work Environment & Physical Demands: Office & Computer Laboratories - Sitting, standing, extended periods of time using a mouse and keyboard and viewing computer screens. Infrequent lifting of <40lbs. Movement between points within the same office or between buildings. Work is performed in generally consistent environmental conditions with some seasonality for temperature differences and lighting.
