SummaryDescription:ย The basic function of the CAD Drafter & TechnicalSpecialist is to use computer software to create detailed technical drawingsand plans for marine and industrial construction projects, including liftplans, job construction plans, survey layouts, construction templates, projectdetailing, and the like; perform project scheduling using Microsoft ProjectScheduling, P6 Scheduling, and the similar software programs; conduct surveys,field inspections, and field measurements (pre-construction, mid-construction,and post-construction); gather information and data; create, draft, and presentpresentations, surveys, reports, letterhead proposals, spreadsheets, and thelike; provide layouts; create drawings; perform material takeoffs; performinspections; and assist in the various phases of marine and industrialconstruction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of marineengineering principles, excellent attention to detail, and proficiency in CAD(computer-aided design) and other computer software and in using surveyingequipment.

WorksiteLocation(s):ย The company headquarters is in Harvey, Louisiana. Mostof the work will be performed in the office, but there will be some field andsite work from time to time.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 18+ years of age.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Must be able to pass a drug-screen.
  • Must be able to pass a background investigation.
  • Must pass be able pass a fit-for-duty examination.
  • TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential)
  • Eligible to enroll in the DISA program.
  • Proficient in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.); Adobe; and Bluebeam.
  • Proficient in land surveying equipment.

PreferredQualifications:

  • Associate or bachelor's degree or diploma in Drafting, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a structural or mechanical Drafter (preferably at an engineering firm).
  • Certification from ADDA (American Design Drafting Association) or similar institution.
