We are seeking a full-time, detail-oriented Survey CAD Technician to join our team in Mandeville, LA. This Survey Technician will be instrumental in producing high-quality, accurate drawings across a range of infrastructure and land development projects. The ideal candidate has strong CAD skills, an understanding of surveying principles, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
The work schedule for this role is Monday -Thursday, 6:45 AM - 4:45 PM. No travel is required.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare ALTA/ACSM Land Title survey, boundary surveys, Topo, utility as-built drawings, including "plan & profile" drawings
  • Produce field worksheets for construction projects
  • Process and draft field data collected from survey crews, including GPS and total station data
  • Develop surfaces, contours, and alignments using AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Assist with plat preparation, legal descriptions, and easement exhibits
  • Coordinate with surveyors, engineers, and project managers to meet project requirements
  • Maintain drawing standards and ensure accuracy and quality control of deliverables
  • Organize and manage project files and data within company systems
  • Revise drawings based on redlines and client or team feedback

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 1-3 years of surveying CAD experience
  • Proficiency with Civil 3D & AutoCAD
  • Understanding of surveying principles, coordinate systems, and field data processing
  • Experience with GPS data, point clouds, or LiDAR is a plus
  • Solid attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Communication and collaboration abilities

Preferred qualifications:
  • Knowledge and experience with Microstation
  • Knowledge of GIS applications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering Technology, or related field.

Environmental & physical factors:
Indoors - extended periods of sitting, frequently walking, and standing have manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination needed to use a variety of office equipment such as computers, telephones, calculators, copiers, and topographic surveying equipment; Have corrected vision in order to review plans and specifications and perform other essential functions of the job

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as various market and business considerations.
US Pay Range
$22-$32 USD
Full-time employees receive a well-rounded benefit package including access to our company-sponsored Medical (including an HSA High Deductible option), Dental, Vision, FSA, and Supplemental Life Insurance plans. We also offer 100% company-paid Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, and Long-Term Disability coverage. Employees are eligible to participate in our company's 401(k) plan with up to a 4% match. Additionally, employees receive paid vacation and sick time, 11 paid holidays, and are able to participate in employee ownership options. MacKay pays for expenses associated with licensure as well as annual performance bonuses.
