Senior Software Engineer (AI)

We're hiring a Senior Software Engineer (AI) to join our team in Richmond, VA, or Columbia, SC. This role offers a hybrid schedule, with 50% onsite work required.

Skills & Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of experience in programming and systems analysis
  • 3+ years of experience in GenAI or AI/ML application development
  • 2+ years of experience in DevOps deploying cloud-hosted solutions
  • Experience in developing Generative AI applications, including RAG architecture, and model fine-tuning; experience with Agentic AI is a plus
  • Full-stack development experience
  • Experience in Scrum methodology and DevSecOps
  • Hands-on experience building applications using Generative AI and LLMs
  • Have worked professionally with AI and built AI-driven applications
  • Strong experience with Python, React, Angular, Azure/Microsoft Cloud services, and OpenAI/Azure OpenAI services preferred
  • SQL and NoSQL database experience preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in developing applications using Microsoft Power Platform
  • Experience in deploying AI solutions in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Project, Visio)
Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate Gen AI solutions from a functional, technical, and risk standpoint
  • Development and implementation of Gen AI solutions to solve complex business problems and enhance operational efficiency
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI solutions into existing systems and workflows
  • Lead, mentor, and collaborate with other developers
  • Ensure the security, performance, and reliability of AI solutions by following coding best practices and performing thorough testing and validation
  • Lead and mentor less experienced programmers on complex projects
Education/Certifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or Mathematics
