Job description

Join our team as a Field Engineer in our Technology Services line of business.
 
The Field Engineer is responsible for all on-site technical work performed at the DEX client site.  The Field Engineer works closely with centralized services (Helpdesk, NOC, Project Engineering) to coordinate tasks that require physical presence where clients have office locations.  This position allows you to exercise high-levels customer service and technical acumen. 
Job description:
  • Travel to client sites to perform reactive and proactive technical support for clients and end users.
  • Resolving technical issues including, but not limited to:
  • Microsoft Operating Systems
  • Windows Server (2008/2012/2016/2019)
  • Workstation/ Server Hardware
  • Peripheral Devices (including printers, scanners, etc.)
  • Networking – Including Routers, switches, firewalls, cloud and virtualization-based technologies
  • Common Client Server Applications
  • Will be on-call as necessary
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or related technical field preferred.
  • Experience resolving technical problems and troubleshooting in a client-server environment.
  • Able to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction and billable/utilization hours.
  • Comfortable articulating in client-facing situations.
  • Experience working in a self-directed, self-paced role; operating under pressure of deadlines and conflicting priorities.
  • Must be knowledgeable and experienced as an engineer with the following technologies:
    • Microsoft-based servers and workstations
    • Active Directory
    • Microsoft Office 365
    • Network firewalls and managed switches
    • SAN Administration
    • Switching and Routing
    • Backup and disaster recovery solutions
    • Cloud-based technologies
    • Virtualization technologies
    • Cybersecurity technologies (EDR, MDR, Security Awareness Training, etc.)
    • Experience in developing detailed functional specifications, design documents and test plans; including Statement of Work (SOW) and Bill of Materials (BOM) is required
