About the Leidos Defense Systems Sector

The Leidos Defense Systems Sector offers a broad portfolio of systems, solutions, and services spanning land, sea, air, space, and cyberspace for customers worldwide. Primary Responsibilities

The selected candidate will support the design, implementation, and integration of advanced radar technologies into new and existing sensor programs. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • High-speed data acquisition

  • Data distribution and real-time signal processing

  • Modular software design

  • Integration of COTS and custom technologies into prototype sensor systems

  • Field testing of RF sensors and systems

  • CONUS/OCONUS deployment of advanced sensor systems

You will be assigned a wide variety of tasks related to the development of real-time prototype sensors. This role provides exposure to a broad range of software and computer engineering technologies, with opportunities to learn directly from experienced engineers and contribute meaningfully to multiple projects.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science from an ABET-accredited institution plus 2-4 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with less than 2 years of prior relevant experience.

  • Excellent teamwork skills

  • Strong foundational knowledge in one or more of the following:

  • Object-oriented software design principles

  • Modern C++ development

  • NVIDIA CUDA GPU development and optimization

  • Linux and shell scripting

  • Software design patterns

  • Ability to apply these skills to radar and EW system development, digital signal processing, tracking algorithms, and field testing of sensor systems

  • U.S. citizenship and an active Secret clearance

  • Residence in the North Alabama area or willingness to relocate to the Huntsville/North Alabama region

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with MATLAB

  • Understanding of signal processing fundamentals (sampling, Fourier analysis, etc.)

  • Familiarity with development and collaboration tools such as GIT, JIRA, and CI/CD pipelines
