Job description

  • Partner with engineers, research scientists, technical program managers, and product managers to deliver AI-powered products
  • Oversee design, development, testing, deployment, and support of AI software components, including foundation model training, LLM inference, similarity search, guardrails, model evaluation, experimentation, governance, and observability
  • Make build-vs-buy decisions across open-source and SaaS AI technologies
  • Invent and introduce LLM optimization techniques to improve scalability, cost, latency, and throughput of production AI systems
  • Contribute to the technical vision and long-term roadmap of foundational AI systems
  • Attract and retain AI talent and nurture the personal and professional development of the team
  • Foster a culture of learning and staying abreast of the state of the art in AI
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields plus at least 6 years of experience developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies, or a Master's degree in those fields plus at least 4 years of experience
  • At least 1 year of people leadership experience
  • 3 years of experience managing and leading an engineering team (preferred)
  • 6 years of experience deploying scalable and responsible AI solutions on cloud platforms (preferred)
  • Experience developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies using Python, C++, C#, Java, or Golang (preferred)
  • Passion for staying abreast of the latest AI research and AI systems and applying novel techniques in production (preferred)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (preferred)
