For this exciting opportunity, we are seeking students currently enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution pursuing a degree in Engineering, Business, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field. Candidates must be eligible for a recognized co-op or internship program, intend to return to their studies following the work term, and be willing to commute or temporarily relocate if required. A valid study permit and studentship letter may be required where applicable.

The Co-op Student โ€“ Business Insights will support the Operations Office by preparing, validating, and analyzing operational performance data across North and Latin American operations. Working alongside the Business Insights team, the student will gain hands-on experience in KPI reporting, data analytics, Power BI, business intelligence, and continuous improvement while contributing to enterprise reporting and data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Assist with the preparation, consolidation, and distribution of operational performance reports and leadership reporting materials
  • Maintain reporting templates, dashboards, and reporting libraries while ensuring data accuracy and consistency
  • Perform data validation, quality checks, reconciliation, and documentation of reporting methodologies
  • Conduct basic data analysis to identify trends, performance drivers, and improvement opportunities
  • Prepare presentations, dashboards, and visual summaries to support business decision-making
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve reporting issues and support business reporting requirements
  • Support the development and continuous improvement of reporting tools, processes, and analytical capabilities
  • Assist with Continuous Improvement (CI) reporting, including tracking initiatives, benefits realization, and identifying reporting gaps
  • Support data collection, analysis, and reporting during planning and budgeting cycles
  • Contribute to process documentation, standardization, and other analytical projects as assigned
Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field
  • Eligible to participate in a recognized co-op or internship program
  • Strong interest in data analytics, operational performance, and continuous improvement
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to analyze and work with large datasets
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Experience with Power BI, SQL, Databricks, data visualization, process improvement, or automation is considered an asset
  • Exposure to mining, manufacturing, industrial, or engineering environments is an asset
  • Spanish language proficiency is considered an asset

Pay Range: CAD $4,108 - $6,125 per month

The actual amount offered is determined based on the successful candidateโ€™s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
