What will you do?
Support Design Development: Assist with preliminary and detailed design of linear infrastructure including watermains, sanitary sewers, storm sewers, and associated appurtenances such as chambers, manholes, and service connections
Perform Engineering Calculations: Support hydraulic calculations, pipe sizing, basic system modelling, specifications, quantity take offs, and cost estimates under supervision
Apply Engineering and CAD Software: Prepare and revise technical drawings, plan and profiles, details, and design markups using CAD and civil modelling tools in accordance with municipal standards and project requirements
Field Work and Data Collection: Participate in occasional site visits to observe construction activities, monitor progress, assist with compliance reviews, and collect photographic and field data
Construction Support: Assist with shop drawing reviews, RFI responses, preparation of field sketches, and coordination of design clarifications during construction
Collaborate and Communicate: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams including engineers, project managers, designers, and construction staff while supporting internal and external coordination activities
Research and Innovation: Support technical research, engage with industry suppliers, and assist with development of innovative design approaches, tools, and technologies
Quality and Compliance: Apply internal quality procedures, support quality reviews, follow document control processes, and assist in ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and safety requirements

What you'll bring
Currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering degree program, typically in second through fourth year, at an accredited university
Strong foundational skills in CAD software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, or Civil 3D
Analytical mindset with an interest in hydraulics, water conveyance infrastructure systems, and problem solving
Clear verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
Positive, results-oriented attitude with the ability to take direction and work independently when required
Interest in innovation, sustainability, safety, and quality in municipal infrastructure delivery
Highly organized, detail-oriented, adaptable, and eager to learn in a consulting engineering environment

Range: $26.00 - $33.00
