Job description

The focus for the Ozarks First Weather internship is to have students gain real world experience working in a television station's weather department. Scheduling will be based on requirements outlined by the college or university, and interns will be supervised and participate in a meaningful learning experience.

This is an unpaid internship. Interns must receive college credit. Weather internships are designed for aspiring broadcast meteorologists seeking hands-on experience in a local newsroom setting. Outside of the weather team, interns will potentially work alongside reporters, photojournalists, and producers.

The weather intern will work closely with the weather team. A regular schedule will be set with opportunities for additional times based on availability and readiness. Interns will not be actively involved in severe weather coverage, but will be allowed to observe during special weather coverage.

Interns should be collaborative workers with a willingness to learn. They should give their best efforts in receiving training and cooperate with and follow instructions given to them by Ozarks First. Additionally, interns will abide by all safety procedures and maintain strict confidence of all information received regarding Ozarks First and its trade secrets or any other confidential business information.
