Description
We are looking for an Intern/Co-op to join our Test Engineering Team in Newbury Park. The team is responsible for evaluating, developing, and troubleshooting test solutions utilized in testing Skyworks RF Front End Modules or to test the component filters, switches, LNAs and power amplifiers that are inside the module. You will be working in a dynamic lab environment where there will be opportunities to work with RF test equipment, software automation and data analysis tools.
The Mobile Solutions (MSB) team at Skyworks develops industry-leading, highly integrated solutions for next generation mobile platforms supporting the world's leading smartphone manufacturers. Our design engineers have diverse expertise and utilize a broad range of technologies (SOI, silicon CMOS, GaAs, IPD, TC-SAW and pHEMT) to create differentiated transmit and receive products including high-performance LNAs, couplers, power amplifiers, antenna switch modules, digital/analog controllers, passive matching and acoustic filtering for leading-edge 3GPP standards. Skyworks' MSB team is an ideal place for motivated engineers who enjoy collaboration in a fast-paced environment and designing industry breakthrough solutions for mobile and 5G applications.
Responsibilities
  • Develop automated test solutions for evaluating and optimizing the performance of Skyworks products.
  • Verify automated solutions with manual bench measurements.
  • Develop automation for analyzing measurement data.
  • Troubleshoot bench setups for hardware or software issues.
  • Assist in building new setups or modifying existing setups.

Required Experience and Skills
  • Working towards an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering. Must be enrolled at university during the Intern/Co-Op period.
  • Able to work onsite up to 6 months during June - December 2027.
  • Demonstrated skill in programming languages such as Python or C++.
  • Understanding of engineering fundamentals with strong analytical skills
  • Familiarity with semiconductors and electronics
  • Able to work from schematic, block diagrams and verbal discussions.
  • Good communication, organization, and documentation skills

Desired Experience and Skills
  • Bench experience with RF or Analog test equipment (Spectrum Analyzer, Vector Network Analyzer, Power Sensors, Oscilloscopes, etc.).
  • Familiar with test measurement methods and test equipment automation.
  • Familiar with using AI Assistants for programming and data analysis
  • Self-motivated, positive attitude, team-oriented.

The typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $26.00 - $47.50 per hour and for a Non-Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $22.50 - $42.00 per hour. Starting pay will depend on level of education, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S.
