Job description

Position Summary:

The Engineering Intern - AC Power will support Vertiv's Technical Sales Engineering team by assisting with the development of technical solutions, proposal support, product configuration, and customer-focused engineering activities.  Working alongside experienced Application Engineers and Technical Sales Engineers, the intern will gain exposure to engineering-based sales support, customer requirements analysis, product selection, proposal development, and cross-functional collaboration.  This role offers an excellent opportunity for students interested in engineering, technical sales, product applications, or customer-facing engineering careers.  This position reports in office full time in our Delaware, Ohio engineering site.

Responsibilities:

  • Learn the fundamentals of Vertiv's AC Power product solutions.
  • Assist Technical Sales Engineers with the development of technically sound solutions based on customer requirements and Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
  • Support quote and proposal generation using product configurators and proposal development tools.
  • Assist with product selection, equipment configuration, and technical documentation preparation.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product management, manufacturing, and sales teams to support customer opportunities. 
  • May assist with post sale technical support.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations summarizing project work, technical analysis, or internship experiences.
  • Other Duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science; Electrical Engineering preferred.
  • Strong communication skills - including written and presentation skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and detail-oriented mindset. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, including the ability to balance multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and implement process solutions with objective, measurable results.
  • Proficient in spreadsheets, databases, and MS Office.
  • Proficient and fluent in English including technical terminology. 

PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

  • Standard office environment.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 

TIME TRAVEL REQUIRED

  • This position will be located onsite at Vertiv's Delaware, Ohio facility. 
  • Travel may be required, up to 10%.
