Position Overview

Join our team as an Engineering Intern!

You will be responsible for assisting the Project Manager with project inspections, budget/schedule updates, and GPS field location of assets. 

This position is under the direct supervision of the VP of Operations. 

What You'll Do

The Engineering Intern assists the Project Manager with project inspections, budget/schedule updates, and GPS field location of assets. 

This position is under the direct supervision of the VP of Operations.  

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop basic sewer collection system layouts.
  • Develop basic water distribution system layouts.
  • Assist Project Manager with basic site surveying and site inspections.
  • Assist Project Manager with contractor scheduling.
  • Assist Project Manager with budget updates.
  • Assisting with clerical and support tasks as assigned by the Project Manager or VP of Operations.
What You'll Bring

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ability to efficiently use MS Word/Excel and Foxit PDF Editor.
  • Louisiana Driver's License.
  • Able to work well in a fast paced, high energy environment.
  • Able to work independently and have a positive attitude.

Education and Training:

  • Acceptance into a Bachelor of Science Engineering degree program (Civil or Mechanical).
  • Completion of 1st year of college at an accredited institution.
Work Environment and Conditions
  • Normal office conditions prevail. 
  • Candidate must be capable of visiting construction sites, undeveloped areas, and potential project locations.
  • Possess and maintain a valid State of Louisiana driver's license throughout the period of employment.
  • The work can involve sitting for extended periods at a work station, extensive walking, and occasional lifting up to 50lbs.
  • Able to occasionally work in industrial locations that are noisy, dusty, and have strong odors.  
  • Position requires a maximum of 30 hours per week (normal office hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday-Friday).
