Location: Harlan, IA

Position Summary
CPM Holdings, Inc. is seeking a motivated and detailโ€‘oriented Engineering Intern to support engineering, drafting, and manufacturing layout initiatives within the Industrial Solutions business unit in Harlan, Iowa. This internship provides handsโ€‘on experience working with engineering documentation, bills of materials (BOMs), part drawings, and facility layout projects in a manufacturing environment. The intern will partner closely with engineering, operations, and inventory teams to support yearโ€‘end inventory targets and documentation standardization efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create and modify Bills of Materials (BOMs) for roller shell assemblies to support inventory accuracy and yearโ€‘end inventory level targets.
  • Complete print comparison and rationalization for nonโ€‘CPM supplied parts to ensure documentation consistency and alignment.
  • Develop and update engineering drawings for Carlson part numbers (nonโ€‘CPM parts).
  • Assist with layout planning and organization of the South Building assembly area, supporting efficient assembly flow and space utilization.
  • Create new engineering prints for nonโ€‘CPM part numbers (including dies and roller assemblies) using the CPM title block and drafting standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations team members to ensure drawings and BOMs align with manufacturing and inventory needs.
  • Support additional engineering or documentationโ€‘related projects as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelorโ€™s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or related discipline).
  • Basic understanding of engineering drawings, BOMs, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Experience with or exposure to CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar) preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
  • Effective communication skills and willingness to learn in a handsโ€‘on manufacturing environment.
