A public research university, New Jersey Institute of Technology offers about 100 undergraduate and graduate programs, including 19 doctoral programs, in fields including architecture, engineering, computer science, and liberal arts. The school also offers continuing education and distance courses. Its Albert Dorman Honors College provides students with individualized curricula and honors colloquia including travel and featured speakers. More than 8,000 students attend the NJIT, which operates a single campus in Newark. NJIT was founded in 1884 as the Newark Technical School.
Job Description
Adjunct Professor needed to teach Internet Applications for the Fall 2018 semester at a NJIT. Course will run on Friday nights from 6-9 PM. Here is the couse description:
This course presents the concepts and software technologies that underline web-oriented, three-tier software architectures and applications. The enabling software mechanisms include the markup languages (HTML5 and CSS3) used by browsers, client-side scripting languages and libraries (Javascript and AJAX), web servers and server-side-scripting languages (Apache, PHP, HTTP protocol), and background databases (SQL, MySQL). The course uses a hands-on, guided development approach with substantial assignments to illustrate the fundamental computing concepts systems, and technologies considered and to provide direct experience in their use.
Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include an MS in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or a related field, or a BS degree with 5+ years of full time job experience in a job related to CS, IT, etc. Prior teaching experience is preferred.
