Senior Product Engineer
Location: 1333 South Daysville Road, Oregon, IL 61061
Job Type: Full-Time

About the Role
ETNYRE is seeking a Senior Product Engineer - Trailers to lead the design, development, and validation of trailer products with a focus on light structures, manufacturability, and system performance. This role requires strong expertise in CAD design, product development, manufacturing engineering, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems. You will work cross-functionally with production, sales, quality, and purchasing teams to deliver high-quality trailer solutions.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the end-to-end product development of trailer components and light structural systems.
  • Create and maintain 3D CAD models and detailed engineering drawings using SolidWorks (preferred).
  • Design welded structures, machined components, and assemblies compliant with DFM principles.
  • Perform FEA, virtual simulations, and engineering analysis to validate product designs.
  • Support manufacturing by addressing build issues, improving processes, and assisting with tooling/fixture needs.
  • Collaborate with production, quality, sales, and purchasing to ensure product feasibility and quality.
  • Develop and integrate hydraulic and pneumatic systems into trailer designs.
  • Prepare engineering documentation, BOMs, ECOs, specifications, and test reports.
  • Participate in design reviews and support continuous improvement projects.
  • Communicate effectively across departments to ensure alignment and timely execution.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in product development and 3D CAD (SolidWorks strongly preferred).
  • 4+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment with cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strong experience with DFM for welded structures, machined parts, and assembly processes.
  • 3+ years of experience in engineering analysis (FEA, simulation, virtual validation).
  • 2+ years of experience in hydraulic and/or pneumatic system design.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Skills
  • Experience in Trailer product design or heavy/light structures.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and fabrication methods.
  • Hands-on approach with a strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
